HBO City
A Behind-the-scenes documentary on how the “HBO Starship” intro from the 1980’s was created, taped off HBO in 1983 and captured from an old VHS tape. (The “Star-Gate” effect at 5:30 is unbelievable.)

Oh my God, I think I remember watching this back then. I DEFINITELY remember the camera moving down the street. Wow.
It’s also pretty fun to see that HBO’s completely horrid taste in background music isn’t limited only to modern-day episodes of Real Sex.
One of the best postings ever.
amazing all the work they had to do before CGI. pretty sure the chunky HBO letters were one of the reference points in the DVNO video.
