Torture Track

“The (Coyoyte Ugly) ‘Coyotes’ commentary is like being trapped in a sorority as chatty chicks with nothing to say yammer on and on about their hair. Tyra Banks is the worst offender, craving attention and interrupting others left and right to talk about herself, as if anybody cares. I lasted about fifteen minutes.” ~ Gabriel Powers, DVDActive

  • Footnote: In the far off chance that you’re not familiar with this masterpiece of modern shitema, Coyote Ugly is the story of Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo), “a girl in her early 20s going to NYC to pursue a dream of becoming a songwriter who gets a “day”(night!) job as a bar maid at a nightclub called Coyote Ugly.” That’s Violet/Piper, barely photoshopped into the bottom left-hand corner in an earlier “UNRATED Extended Cut” DVD packaging, in the above right photo. Thankfully, the new Coyote Ugly (The Double-Shot Edition) [Blu-ray] has restored Piper/Violet to her previous, proper, front, center, piled-on, poster position. And Tyra to the outskanks.

tyra? craving attention? nooooooo!

Ty’s wildin’ out. Or maybe having a seizure. Forget Speedracer, here’s the movie they should’ve done in 3D.

But it’s got Bridget!

(okay, indeed, that’s not enough to save it)

I like it when Bruckheimer tries to make NYC movies and TV shows. It’s as if he’s never been here. Why be accurate with that sort of thing? It’s not like you can’t just add landmarks to downtown LA in post-production. Hey, Central Park, how’d that palm tree get in there?
