Dirty Rotten Scoundrel

“This is the kind of movie that appeals to 30-something Entertainment Weekly or New York magazine feature writers who have no taste to speak of.” ~ Jeffrey Wells (via skeet)

Rrrrrrr. Brick is one of our favorite movies of the last few years, so, naturally, this is not a smiles bulletin. We’ll give it a shot, but the trailer (still) looks Burn After Reading cornball.

I remember watching Brick and thinking at first that Johnson was real pleased with himself. It took a while to get used to all the cutesy-ness. Eventually it worked itself out because of the noir feel and dark lighting of the film and the excellent story. This one is so bright and its a caper (you can almost hear the water whistles). He might not be able to get away with the cute flourishes this time around.

“We shared a laugh and then we vowed to kill everyone associated with the film.”

I’d watch Rachel Weisz watching paint dry.

‘Brick’ was great. Nothing like Philip Marlowe in high school. And I have to agree with 2poppy, as I too would watch Rachel Weisz watch paint dry.
