The Sweater Song
We can all agree that Isla Fisher is cute, and… well, er, cute. In the latest issue of Vanity Fair she describes exactly what attracted her to the slightly needy, hilarious-free, nympho-assaulting character she portrayed in 2005’s comedic turd de force Wedding Crashers:
My character in Wedding Crashers [Gloria Cleary] just jumped off the page to me. The story was dark: womanizing, misogynistic men crashing weddings. I straightaway liked the story, but when women come up to me and say, “I love that character, that character is me,” I’m like ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe you’re proud of that! I was doing that ironically!’
… Dark? Right. “Womanizing, misogynistic men crashing weddings.” Perilously dark material. Almost as dark as Seduced By Fame. But not quite as dark as Bewitched. And not at all resembling comedy.
For the second time, yes.
