The Life Ganesha

We like the fake poster better. According to the McPaper, the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited will be “showcased by Fox Searchlight beginning this weekend,” in front of both Danny Boyle’s sci-fi pic Sunshine and musical arthouse hit and Sundance Audience Award Winner, Once, and on popular online video streaming service YouTube, after that. Big prize to the first person who can decipher the writing on the board above Owen’s banged-up noggin. (via bigscreenlittlescreen)

From what I can read (It is not a clear read) It says in first line — Trust fund place for some lady. In the second line, it says —- Mahalaxmi Mandir, Udaipur (name of the temple of Laxmi (Money Godess) in Udaipur, which is in Rajsthan India).

The moustache suits Schwartzman. He looks like Richie Tenenbaum. Anderson’s characters/sets now have a recognizable or signature style.

i’ll be damned.. after seeing the trailer I’m now excited about Darjeeling. the premise has huge suck potential though, an early 80s melodrama,gag-inducing touchy feeliness to it.

some people have noticed (kottke? and gorillavs bear) that in past films anderson only used futura font and in this one he doesn’t.

this one better be good to warrant all the adulation.
