Approaching Apatow Overload?
According to this hot, little Elle magazine profile on Saturday Night Live cast member Kristen “She Bangs!” Wiig, (suppose we could have gone with “The Nintendo” Wiig, but…) the 34-year-old comic actress “has a part in (Judd) Apatow’s December musical-biopic parody Walk Hard … also writing a romantic comedy for Apatow, in which she’ll star.” Judd is clearly a very, very busy man. Wes Anderson for the save?
IMDB: “There was an interview with Paul Rudd in the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly in which he revealed that he and Jack Black have cameos in Walk Hard. Rudd will be playing John Lennon and Black will be playing Paul McCartney.”
Kristin Wiig and Jason Sudekis play a married couple in Bill, the story of a guy (Bill/Aaron Eckhardt) who, fed up with his job and cheating wife, reluctantly mentors a rebellious teen.” Parker Posey’s doppel-blonde Elizabeth Banks plays the cheating wife. Jessica Alba plays the friend of the boy that Aaron Eckhart’s character mentors in the movie (read: Alba gets maximum trailer time, but sees minimum screen time). The film also features Narcanon-lovin’ Scientologist Shirley Brener (pronounced: SHEER -LEE, because she’s an asshole).
Buy, Rent, Borrow: Kitchen Confidential: The Complete Series, loosely based on Anthony Bourdain’s culinary best-seller of the same name, was a great show with a great cast cut down in its prime.
Ever see Apatow interviewed? He’s the most nervous, insecure thing on the planet. You get flop sweat just watching him squirm. He needs the blockbuster hits.
Kitchen Confidential - seriously good cast: John Cho, John Francis Daly, Xander from ‘Buffy’ - and a smoking Bradley Cooper pressing Lindsey Price against that wall? Hmmm. Might have to buy that. Too bad about the female cast members. Nothing against Bonnie Sommerville, but does she really need to move and act like that? And Jaime King - does she really need to move and… well, move like that?
