Let's Go Get A Drink And Smoke A Cigarette
Finally got around to seeing The Darjeeling Limited. Big surprise, we loved it. Sure it has a ton of problems, but… THIS SPACE FOR EXCUSES. Also saw the Ryan Gosling Is The Greatest Actor Of All Time And A Plastic Doll movie. It was a real disappointment. What the f are those critics smoking? For us, the movie falls apart early on when RyRy’s character first introduces his new “girlfriend” to his brother and wife and the camera neglects to show Gosling carrying her inside the house. So why not include that one particular shot? Because the movie ends there.
i can’t believe i’m the only negative review i’ve seen. it was like watching an episode of LOST, no one is asking the right questions, no one is acknowledging the reality or the absurdity of the situations. of course, gosling is great, but emily mortimer is terribly miscast. not nearly enough kelli garner either, who is perfect in her role.
yes but the joy of Lost is its total absurdity, don’t you think? like, i can’t wait till they unravel this mystery that can’t really be unraveled because it’s not even possible! we’re all suckers. i love it.
there should be more kelli garner in everything.
Enjoyed Darjeeling Limited but didn’t love it. Oddly seemed like a bunch of great moments strung together rather than a cohesive whole. If that makes sense.
I also thought it was going end probably twice before it did. Maybe the pacing threw me off.
