I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!
BMV: But did you see Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead?
Armond White: I saw that garbage.
and later…
SB: But Michael Bay, what that guy has is— there’s something to him when it comes down to certain lyric interludes or whatever. He’s invested in every shot in a similar sense that you say Wes Anderson is.
Armond White: Well, in that sense he’s more of an artist than Ridley Scott. Ridley Scott’s a hack as well. The television visual sense. That’s why Blade Runner doesn’t hold up.

- Scroll way, way, way down for the Lumet/Scott rants.
mumblecore!
yeah, digital photography and recordings both suffer from the same problem: lack of depth.. a hollowness. they’re coming around though.
don’t hear much from Spike Lee anymore, he lost it after a while.
I’d love to stick Armond White and Camille Paglia in a locked room and see who could out-contrarian the other one.

Technically, he’s given Michael Bay a backhanded compliment. Yes, Blade Runner was great but there are definitely parts of it that don’t hold up visually.
